Why the Arts Centre?
There are a few reasons why we have chosen the Melbourne Arts Centre as our departure location for all our Melbourne Tours
- Ease of Access:
The Arts Centre is centrally located in Melbourne and easy to reach. You can get there via the Free Tram (check out the Tram Map below), by Train (see Train Map below), on Foot (see Walking Map below), or with an Uber or taxi. - More Sustainable and Time Saving for you:
A decade ago, we might have been able to pick everyone up from their hotels. But today, Melbourne is a vibrant, pedestrian-focused city where morning traffic would stretch pickups to over an hour – not ideal for the first person on board!
Instead, our central meeting point ensures a streamlined experience, and if requested, we’re happy to provide hotel drop-offs at the end of your tour. - Relax prior to your Journey:
With a single pickup location and time, you can plan your morning without stress, knowing exactly when your bus will depart. Take your time getting to us and enjoy the city’s charm along the way.
Stroll through Melbourne and soak in the city vibes.
Indulge in a delicious breakfast or brunch at one of the nearby cafés.
Cross the Yarra River and marvel at its beauty.
Explore the free Music Museum inside the Arts Centre or the National Gallery of Victoria right next door.
Or simply relax inside or outside the Arts Centre as you wait for your guide to arrive. - Start your day the Melbourne Way:
Blend in with the locals and grab a freshly brewed coffee from Protagonist Café – conveniently located at our pickup spot. Show your voucher (details provided with your ticket) to enjoy your caffeine fix on us. Just be sure to allow enough time to order, as we’ll need to depart promptly.

Trams are Melbourne’s most popular mode of transport, with services frequently running through the CBD and beyond. To ride the trams outside of the free tram zone, you’ll need a Myki card—a reusable travel card that can be purchased and topped up at many locations, including convenience stores and major train stations. This is perfect for short trips within the city centre, but be aware that once you leave the Free Tram Zone, a valid Myki card is required.

Train
Melbourne’s train network is a reliable and straightforward option for exploring the city and its outer suburbs. Trains operate from five central “City Loop” stations, with Flinders Street Station—Melbourne’s oldest and most iconic station—being the closest to our pickup point at the Arts Centre. To travel by train, you’ll need a Myki card, which can be purchased at train stations, convenience stores, or online. Tapping on and off with your Myki at each station ensures your fare is covered, and it’s a convenient way to move around Melbourne. Trains on most lines run frequently, especially during peak hours, and connect with other transport modes like trams and buses. If you’re staying in areas beyond the city centre, the train network offers a quick, comfortable way to reach central Melbourne, where you can enjoy a short walk to our tour pickup location.
