Welcome to your Yarra Valley Wine Tour Assist page. Here you’ll find a simple guide to the wineries we most commonly visit, what to expect at each stop, food options, facilities, and helpful notes for the day. Winery stops may change, but this page gives you a good idea of the standard experience.
Before You Go
Tour Duration:
Approximately 5.5 hours.
Food:
This tour includes three wine tastings at selected Yarra Valley venues.
Cheese platters may be available to pre-order at our first venue. Please let your guide know when boarding if you wish to pre-purchase this.
For the morning version of this tour, time will be given to purchase lunch at the third winery stop. For the afternoon tour, no lunch options will be available.
What to bring:
We recommend bringing weather-appropriate clothing, a water bottle, and valid photo ID. ID may be required if you look under 25 years old.

Non-alcoholic alternatives may be available at some venues, but options vary by stop.
All venues, stops and timing are subject to change depending on availability, opening hours, private events, weather, traffic and operational requirements on the day.

Stop 1 : Helen and Joey
Enjoy a guided wine tasting at Helen & Joey Estate, followed by free time to purchase your own drink and enjoy the lake, gardens and valley views. Be sure to keep an eye out for their famous unicorn.
What You Can Expect:
- A hosted tasting of Helen & Joey’s premium cool-climate wines.
- Learn about the wines and winemaking process as you are poured up to five tasting samples.
- Time after the tasting to purchase your own drink, enjoy the terrace views, or take a short wander through the gardens down to the lake.
Good to Know:
- Your guide will walk you inside and introduce you to the cellar door team, who will host your tasting. This tasting is typically standing.
- The wine tasting usually takes approximately 25–30 minutes.
- Toilets are available inside the cellar door.
- Non-alcoholic alternatives are available if you prefer not to drink.
- Your guide will let you know exactly what time to be back on board the bus.
Timing:
Approx. 45-60 minutes.

If you pre-order your cheese, then not only will you get a slight discount, however you can also rest assured that your platter will arrive promptly on arrival.

Stop 2 : Payten & Jones
Enjoy a guided wine tasting at Payten & Jones, followed by free time to purchase your own drink and take in the venue’s quirky artwork, local character and relaxed Healesville feel.
It’s a great stop to try something different and enjoy wine without the fuss.
What You Can Expect:
- A hosted tasting of Payten & Jones’ premium cool-climate wines.
- Learn about the local owners, the region, and their more creative approach to winemaking.
- Time after the tasting to purchase your own drink and enjoy the venue.
Good to Know:
- Your guide will walk you inside and introduce you to the cellar door team, who will host your tasting. Tasting is generally seated.
- The wine tasting usually takes approximately 30–40 minutes.
- After the tasting, you’ll have some free time to enjoy the venue before departure.
- Toilets are available inside.
- Non-alcoholic alternatives may be available if you prefer not to drink.
- Beer and cider may also be available to purchase.
- They have chips and nuts available for purchase
- Your guide will let you know exactly what time to be back on board the bus.
Timing:
Approx. 45 minutes.
Stop 3 : Soumah
Enjoy a guided wine tasting at Soumah, followed by time to purchase your own drink and take in the vineyard views. Soumah is known for cool-climate wines with a strong northern Italian influence.
Those on the morning departure tour will have time to purchase lunch here.
What to Expect:

- A hosted tasting of Soumah’s premium cool-climate wines.
- Learn about the winery’s Italian-inspired wine styles and the Yarra Valley growing region.
- Time after the tasting to purchase your own drink and enjoy the views from the cellar door area.
Good to Know:
- Your guide will walk you inside and introduce you to the cellar door team, who will host your tasting. Typically this is standing.
- The wine tasting usually takes approximately 15–20 minutes, so you have time to enjoy the beautiful surrounds.
- After the tasting, you’ll have some free time to enjoy the venue before departure.
- Toilets are available outside where you walk in.
- Non-alcoholic alternatives may be available if you prefer not to drink.
- Light snacks or food may be available to purchase, depending on the day.
- Your guide will let you know exactly what time to be back on board the bus.
Timing:
Approx. 60 minutes.
Return to Melbourne
The return journey to Melbourne usually takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, depending on traffic.
Good to Know:
- We recommend using the bathrooms before leaving our final stop, as we cannot guarantee a bathroom break on the way back to Melbourne.
- Your guide will confirm the final drop-off location before arrival.
- Drop-off is usually at or near Federation Square, giving you a central location with easy access to trains, trams, taxis, rideshare, restaurants and bars.
- Please speak with your guide if you are unsure how to get to your next location after the tour.
